Bacteria
Investigation
Aim: To compare the growth of bacteria on the year 8 bubbler to the 7 year bubbler.
Materials:
- Cotton Swab
- 2 Agar Plates
- Sticky Tape
Method:
1. We collected our agar plates.
2. We got the swobs and went to the bubbler in year 8 area and in the year 7 area.
3. We wiped the swobs on the water release button.
3. We wiped the swobs on the agar plates.
4. We put the agar plates in the incubator.
5. We got them out and examined at them.
Results:
-What bacteria was present?
We found Staphylococcus Aueus, Serratia Marcescens, Moulds and Fungi, Bacillus Subtillus,
Staphylococcus albus, Yeast Species.
-How did you know?
We know this because we have checked and compared against the the table and the disruptions giving.

Discussion:
Why do you think that bacteria was present?
Staphylococcus Aueus- Comes from Skin Surface, inside nose. Staphylococcus aueus could have been transmitted from someones hands after sneezing or picking there nose.
Staphylococcus Albus- Comes from Skim Surface. Staphylococcus Albus from die skin on our hands.
Serratia Marcescens- Comes from Soil, Water, intestine. Serratia Marcescens can come from people not washing their hands after going to the toilet or they can have soil or dirty water on their hands.
Moulds and Fungi - Comes from Spoiled food, damp places. Moulds and Fungi can come from people having eaten food and it been on their fingers or it could grow there because it is always damp.
Bacillus Subtillus- Comes from Soil, vegetation. Bacillus Subtillus can be transferred from peoples hands who have touched vegetation.
Yeast Species- Comes from Mouth, Intestines, genitals. Yeast Species can come from people not washing their hands after going to the toilet or from people licking their fingers.
Conclusion:
Did you achieve your aim?
Yes, in conclusion we achieved our aim. We found out that there was bacteria on the bubblers, what type of bacteria was on the bubblers and which bubbler had more bacteria on it out of the year 7 and year 8 bubbler. The year 7 bubbler had more bacteria on it.
